Nice to meet you! Here’s a little bit about me.
My name is Petrina Tran and I was born in San Jose, CA, but grew up in Dubai, UAE for 12 years before returning to the United States for university. I’m currently majoring in Journalism with a minor in Linguistics and have a passion for storytelling through photography, connecting with people, and being in the community. I currently serve as Social Media Outreach officer for the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and am a staff writer and photographer for The Daily Aztec. Outside of school, I enjoy flying, music, reading, and experiencing different languages and cultures.
This semester, I’m looking into the homelessness crisis that unhoused residents of the San Diego community face. Through this website, I’m looking forward to sharing my work as I develop my personal and professional portfolio. I hope you enjoy following my journey as I explore different facets of journalism!
